A minimally invasive procedure called shoulder arthroscopy is performed to identify and treat shoulder issues. You could require an arthroscopy if you have rotator cuff tears or shoulder impingement. Compared to conventional surgery, minimally invasive surgery requires smaller incisions. The size of each cut is comparable to a keyhole. Your surgeon inserts an arthroscope, a tiny camera, through a tiny skin incision. The images from this camera of your shoulder are shown on a video screen. In order to identify the source of your injury, your provider will review these pictures. The surgeon will use tiny surgical instruments to fix your shoulder if it needs to be mobile again.
